Like almost anywhere in the Mediterranean, fig trees were omnipresent. This fig preparation is traditionally served in crystal bowls to welcome guests. The best spoon sweet has crunchy figs that are still brightly coloured, stewed in a thick syrup that is not overly sweet. Fresh figs baked in honeyed wine laced with cinnamon, orange extract and vanilla essence over Greek yogurt.
